Merger of STCAR and SPAAR Approved
Members of the Southern Twin Cities Association of REALTORS® and the St. Paul Area Association of REALTORS® have voted to approve the plan of merger today. The merger of the two organizations will be effective on December 31, 2009.
Here's what you can expect as of January 1, 2010:
- Your current STCAR office will remain open to serve the needs of our members
- Access to a second office at 325 East Roselawn Avenue, St. Paul
- Your current membership ID number will remain the same to access the MLS
- Your dues and fees will remain the same
- The high level of customer service you receive today will remain
- Additional educational and networking opportunities
- Increased connection with local elected officials
- Enhanced communications efforts
- Enhanced local market research and statistical reports
The 2010 officers and directors for the new organization were also announced and approved. They are: Tony Maurer - President, Jennifer Snyder - President Elect, Richard Tucker - Treasurer, Rae Jean Malone - Immediate Past President. Directors: Jim Reiter, John Piche, Vicki Gay, Bob Nicholson, Gary Hilgers, Linda Rogers, Jason Gorman, Tom Wiener, Sharry Schmid, Wayne Gilbert, Kate Beckman, Peter Sparr, Dave May and Tim Stiebner.
The organization will retain the name St Paul Area Association of REALTORS for the time being. The new Board of Directors has been charged with task of establishing a new identity and name which shall be all encompassing given the large geographic area your new association shall cover.
"These are two very strong organizations coming together to create an even greater resource for REALTORS and consumers in the metro area," said Tony Maurer, 2009 STCAR President the 2010 President of the new organization.
